Hong Kong’s first official program

LPI® Trained Coach Certification

Learn to use the research‑backed Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI®), a 360 assessment that reveals blind spots leaders cannot see and benchmarks behavior against global standards. It gives coaches a credible, structured foundation to elevate conversations with evidence‑based insights and drive measurable leadership change.

Why this combination works

Why coaching with a 360 is more effective

Coaching without a 360

  • Relies mainly on self‑perception
  • Blind spots remain hidden
  • Harder to create urgency for change

Coaching with a 360

  • Reveals how others actually experience the leader
  • Makes gaps visible and discussable
  • Provides a shared language for action

A well‑designed 360 is a catalyst for leadership growth. Coaching turns that insight into a practical plan leaders will act on.

Unique value of LPI

Makes the coaching conversation more engaging and more effective

The LPI® gives coaches both quantitative and qualitative feedback from the people leaders work most closely with, making conversations specific, credible, and actionable.

1.1 Quantitative

Evidence‑based framework

Built on The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®, with more than 40 years of research. Measures the frequency of 30 observable leadership behaviours — rather than personality traits.

22.8×

Higher engagement when The Five Practices are used frequently vs. rarely

95.8% highly engaged when used “Very Frequently / Almost Always” vs 4.2% when used no more than “Once in a While.”

Higher LPI® scores are also linked to satisfaction, retention, lower absenteeism, and stronger performance. The Five Practices account for 38.6% of the variance in engagement.

1.2 Qualitative

Individual, workplace‑specific comments

Observers provide feedback in their own words, making it genuine and realistic — not just a score.

  • Continue — one behaviour to keep doing
  • Stop — one behaviour to stop
  • Start — one behaviour to begin
  • Thank you — one contribution worth recognising

Organizations can also add or adapt questions to fit their own leadership context.

These qualitative comments give coaches concrete examples to work with. The scores show the overall pattern, while the written comments make the coaching conversation practical and directly relevant to the leader’s workplace.

Gain a ready‑to‑use structure to develop better leaders — designed to uncover hidden strengths and blind spots that self‑perception alone will miss. Program Outline

What the 2 days cover

  • The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership® — research foundation, how the practices were derived from Personal Best stories, and how LPI® is built from them.
  • Credibility of the instrument — reliability, validity, and why LPI® measures frequency of behaviour rather than traits.
  • Interpreting the LPI® 360 report — self vs. observer gaps, typical leadership patterns, percentile ranking as context, and open comments (One behavior to continue, one to stop, one to begin, plus a thank you note)
  • Common coachee reactions — frequent questions, resistance, and strategies for working through them.
  • Coaching conversation framework — structured process and questioning techniques, drawing on A Coach’s Guide to Developing Exemplary Leaders.
  • Hands‑on practice — coaching in pairs using real report data, with feedback.
  • Certification assessment — written exam and observed coaching assessment (includes one free retake if needed).
  • Applying LPI® in the organisation — building a coaching culture beyond one‑off debriefs.

Post‑certification support — three months of follow‑up, up to one hour per month, as you begin using LPI® with leaders.
